What a great day
for our swimmers and our club yesterday!!! Thank you to every parent who spent
time working at the meet yesterday. Special thanks to Mike Ansel
and Mike Dowzicky for running a great meet,
Tim Cooper for running the computer for the entire meet,
MaryBeth Ruckelhaus for running the snackbar, and Megan Fritz,
Donna Muscatello, Susan Schorer, Kim Kamertz, and
Dianne Zeigler for helping to line our swimmers up so that the coaches
could watch the meet! Also, thank you to all of the lifeguards and
Fran Wieber for helping to make this event safe for all of our
swimmers!
CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS !!!
I told the girls
it would be an advantage to swim in our home pool for champs and it was! 126
season best times. Congratulations girls! There were so many great swims at
the meet, that I am going to give 4
Piranha
Awards
(past
winner's here...) ~ one for each age group.
8+unders ~ The champs piranha
award goes to a swimmer who is always smiling and was all smiles after 5
fantastic swims including a 5th place finish in the 50 freestyle and an
amazing 2 second drop to finish 4th in the 25 breast. Congratulations
Katie Patrick!
9-10's ~ The champs piranha
award goes to a swimmer who always listens at practice. She focuses on what
we work on each day and showed that by hitting her backstroke turns and
nailing her wind-up relay start (Kelly Franz hit her start as well). She
dropped 2 seconds in back and breast Congratulations
Ariel Sigal!
11-12's ~ This is a tough one
as two swimmers had great swims. Awesome job to Lizzy Ruckelshaus in her two
events hitting 30.00 on the nose in the 50 free and dropping 2 seconds in 50
back. But, this piranha award goes to a swimmer who arguably had the best
race of the entire day... dropping 3 seconds and coming from behind to win
the 100 IM with a 1:11. Hopefully, she gets one more chance to swim this as
a 1st alternate leagues... because she will do well. Congratulations
Mariana Bernal!
13-14's ~ This piranha award
goes to a swimmer who worked the night before on her start so that she could
reach her goal of going under 30 in the 50 freestyle. And, she did it
twice... congratulations Laura Heelan!
Thank you to all of the division championship swimmers for a GREAT season. I
will see you at the banquet.
