a) Banquet
– Tentative date for the banquet is Friday,
February 22nd. It will be held in the high
school cafeteria and then the kids can go
swimming afterwards. Banquet will start at
6:00 PM. Volunteers will be needed to bring
salads, desserts, drinks, paper products,
and help with setup and clean up. All
members must fill out the RSVP slip.
b) Fund
Raiser – Beef and Beer will be run by
Mike Rissel and Janel Angst again this year.
Many lessons learned from last year. Need
raffle gifts for this year’s beef and beer.
Date is April 19th. Ticket Price $30.00 per
person. Ticket on sale at boys meet at snack
bar or see Lisa Mylett at the girls meet.
c) Summer Camps – Lisa handed out a
list of camps and their web sites for
everyone to look over so you can decide what
camp will be good for your child. Next
meeting we will see how many people want to
go and to what camps.
d) New Award – SAL has created a new
award and it is called
The Terry Peterson Sportsmanship Award.
This award will be presented to one boy’s
team and one girl’s team in each division
(North, Central, East and West) that
exhibits the characteristics of good
sportsmanship and fair play in their meets.
Lisa will post a sheet to vote. Everyone is
eligible to vote even the swimmers.
e) End of Season Questionnaire – Mike
will provide a questionnaire to get feedback
on how the season went.
f) League and Division Championships
– Fran presented a document that explained
how the league and division championship
work. Guppies are invitation only to swim in
Division championship. Fran also explained
the last two-swim meets. How we align with
the teams that we swim. Fran also pasted out
paperwork on what is available for spring
swimming. This is posted in the community ed
information on the pvsd.org web site.
g) Community Service –
Moono Foundation
collected over 300 shoes, which was our
goal. The next meeting we will get the final
information how much we collected for the
swim-a-thon for Leukemia and Diabetes.
h) Nomination for 2008 – 2009 Board
members. The board consists of 8
members. 7 members are elected every two
years and Coach Fran is the eighth
board member, she is not elected. Current
board members can run for same seat unless
someone new wants the position.
